The Story of TMS Health Solutions

TMS THERAPY offers medication management for patients who have mental health conditions, or patients that have clinical depression. 40% of the patients at TMS THERAPY do not respond to medication. TMS solves this problem by developing solutions for those patients that have Treatment-Resistant Depression. TMS is Northern California’s leader for providing Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. This from of therapy is designed for clients who have not responded to treatments and antidepressants that are traditionally used.

TMS has a Butterfly logo that is symbolic of the hope that TMS has for its patients. The patient goes through a metamorphosis or transformation, and grows in the process. The client is able to do more in their life after they are healed, similar to a Caterpillar that turns into a Butterfly.

TMS was founded by Dr. Richard Bermudes in 2007. His goal was to develop a group practice that combined academic research with a group practice that was focused around the patient.

TMS has a group of experienced clinicians and a staff that is motivated to the complex and rewarding task of helping patients through a time in their lives that may be the most difficult time. The culture at TMS involves respect, collaboration, innovative thinking, lifelong learning, and entrepreneurship to figure out new ways to solve the problems that the patient has.

TMS has its headquarters in San Francisco California, in the Union Square. TMS also has offices in Roseville, Sacramento, Oakland, and UCSF, with plans to open up more offices in California over the next few years.

The burden of depression is a problem that TMS solves with non invasive, evidence based therapies. TMS stands for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. This solution has allowed patients to go back to living a life that they once enjoyed, and it allows them to overcome new obstacles.

Dr. Richard Bermudes is Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry and Family Medicine, but his two decades of experience helping patients is what allows him to be successful as an MD. As the Medical director of TMS, Dr. Bermudes is the expert on policy development, and combines his research and experience as a professor with his ability to solve problems for patients and to run TMS effectively.
