Securus Technologies is a leading provider of communications in correction facilities. The company serves 2,600 correction facilities spread across 45 states. The company avails its services to Canada, Mexico, Columbia and other countries. The company provides services to more than a million inmates across the nation.
Securus Technologies has come out openly to correct inaccuracies presented by GTL. The first press release given by GTL stated there was a decision by the PTAB that granted them permission to pursue injunctions against Securus Technologies. Securus Technologies corrected the bad press releasing stating that the US Appeals Board could not validate the patent. GTL cannot seek injunctions like that.
GTL made a second allegation that the PTAB preserved 55 claims of the total 816 patents. The claims are set to protect GTL from video monitoring. The fundamental security feature was to enable staff in the correction facilities to observe visitations. Observing visitations between family and friends is required in every prison and jail in the United States.
Securus corrected the statement stating that GTL is only asserting a single claim. While the PTAB declined to review the applications, there is a large group of dependent claims with litigations for Securus. Securus believes that the patent they claimed doesn’t have the fundamental security feature. Instead, the information cannot be disclosed by a single independent claim.
Securus Technologies has shown itself as a firm ready to serve and connect. It provides security services such as investigation, public information, biometric analysis, incident management and communication services. The company has shown a dedication to making the world a better place through its innovative technical solutions. Securus stays true to its motto of connecting what matters. Securus has its headquarters in Dallas, Texas. The company has four regional offices in different parts of the United States. One office is located in Atlanta, Georgia while the other is based in Dallas, Texas.
